- A/R/Cografia no ensino e prática artística: a experiência no Doutoramento em Média-Arte DigitalPublication . Veiga, Pedro Alves da; Sales, José; Tavares, MirianEste texto propõe apresentar, enquadrar e demonstrar uma metodologia de investigação criativa suportada em prática artística, a a/r/cografia, especificamente orientada para a investigação e prática no domínio das artes digitais. Pretende, assim, divulgar e promover a sua utilização noutras instituições e, eventualmente, em contextos de ensino. Para isso, será feita uma sua apresentação teórica prévia, incluindo as abordagens metodológicas que estão em sua origem, conceitos-chave e etapas constitutivas. Seguir-se-á uma exemplificação da sua aplicação na criação da instalação artística Ommandala, ilustrando cada etapa e conceito teórico com os detalhes do projeto artístico. O capítulo concluirá com uma reflexão sobre a aplicação da a/r/cografia enquanto metodologia de investigação e de prática artística, ao longo dos últimos três anos, na unidade curricular de Seminário de Investigação e Prática Artística do Doutoramento em Média-Arte Digital, uma oferta conjunta da Universidade Aberta e Universidade do Algarve, em Portugal, onde o autor é também docente.
- Resonant aesthetics: attention and synaesthesia in digital media artPublication . Veiga, Pedro Alves da; Castilho, Luísa Correia; Dias, Rui Sampaio; Rocha, Luzia; Dias, António de SousaThis article posits the creative exploration of the interconnections between image and sound, as well as the intricate interplay between aesthetics and poetics within the contemporary landscape of new digital artistic formats. To facilitate this exploration, it analyses the nuanced roles attributed to visual and sonic elements and their cognitive effect as attention grabbing mechanisms, in order to discern their mutual interferences and the consequential amplification of their artistic resonance. Moreover, it extends its purview beyond the visual and auditory domains, contemplating the ramifications for the broader spectrum of human senses. Through this analysis of aesthetic dimensions, including sensory experiences that transcend the Aristotelian realms of perception, it seeks to unravel the cognitive and communicational implications inherent in the synergistic employment of these media and the transformative potential encapsulated within the convergence of digital formats, unearthing the profound sensory, cognitive, and communicational impacts that resonate within the realms of art and human perception.
- Teaching through community artistic practices in informal urban agriculture laboratoryPublication . Based on an informal urban agriculture laboratory, it suggests approaches for teaching Architecture and Urbanism that explore the pedagogical potential of action research and experimental research methods to structure living spaces regarding proximity, solidarity, intergenerationality, multifunctionality and sustainability. Aiming at social, biophysical, and ecological integration, the promotion of difference and gender equality, and raising awareness of the importance of active citizenship, collaborative processes of co-planning and co-management are developed in implementing plural green urban spaces.
