Santos, Joaquim António Silva Moreira dos; Costa, CarlosThe last five years, was marked by a number of plans of initiatives and projectsgovernmental within the Ministry of Education, in order to make the jump qualifyings to put Portugal at the forefront of European countries for the construction of a society knowledge and technological modernization of the entire physical educational infrastructure. In addition, the significant contextual changes and the various social stimuli exposed by the New Information Technologies, posing new challenges and changes the positioning and management school at the present. Against this background, the school needs to adapt to new times, modifying in much the way it works and acts. The Business Scorecard (BSC) has, since its creation, a growing acceptance in enterprises and organizations, and its penetration was gradually extended to the public sector as a tool to manage and measure the performance of organizations. This study aims to investigate the feasibility of using this tool to support in the world of management education in public schools at a time that, under the circumstances, is in its infancy. It has therefore been taken as a basis a Public School with educational levels, between the 7th and 12th grade, covering an offer training courses for the 3rd cycle of basic education (7th to 9th grade), regular secondary education (10, 11 and 12 years), the Vocational Education degree with 12 years of Education and Training (CEF) and Teaching in the post employment, which include several courses. By using the BSC seeks to achieve significant improvements in performance and public service through the alignment obtained from structural measures, strategic priorities and operational efficiency.
- Jogo do mercado : simulador para aulas de gestãoPublication . Sousa, Carlos Fernando Mendes; Costa, CarlosEste trabalho foca a necessidade de alterar os métodos e as mentalidades de ensino nomeadamente na área de economia/gestão. Trata-se da proposta e construção de um jogo/simulador que possa ser trabalhado em sala de aula tornando assim mais fácil, motivante e com melhores resultados as sessões de ensino-aprendizagem. Partindo de uma revisão de trabalhos já realizados nesta área criou-se um modelo conceptual e desenvolveu-se um protótipo para implementar em escolas onde os professores propõem uma nova forma de aprendizagem com este jogo aos alunos. Este protótipo tenta colmatar algumas deficiências encontradas nesses trabalhos e estudos já anteriormente realizados. No sentido de apurar se o protótipo tem características de ferramenta pedagógica procedeu-se a uma avaliação final onde os alunos e professores participantes foram envolvidos em sessões com utilização do jogo e foram inquiridos no sentido de se perceber afinal se há potencial pedagógico neste protótipo de jogo/simulador. O resultado destes inquéritos pode ser visto mais à frente neste trabalho.
