Abstract(s)
The present chapter results from a process of research and implementation of a pedagogical model for e-learning in the Department of Education of Universidade Aberta (PT). This pedagogical model supports a series of post-graduate online courses. We seek to establish a foundation for the nature of one of its nuclear elements – the “Learning Contract”. For the teachers, it has revealed itself as a key mediating instrument in their teaching, guiding the design and development of the disciplines under their responsibility. For the students, it is also a mediating instrument for distance learning, as well as a navigation device. We have studied and analyzed a set of “Learning Contracts” defined and negotiated by the teachers/tutors in three post-graduations already implemented.
