Abstract(s)
Na literatura estrangeira encontramos alguns trabalhos de investigação que nos podem
ajudar a percecionar o perfil de competências de desempenho dos líderes das
organizações educativas, contudo, muitos deles referem-se a standards,
recomendações, guidelines e frameworks. Há também documentos institucionais e os
relatórios da OCDE. Contudo, em Portugal não existe nenhum documento orientador
com referência ao perfil de gestão e ao estilo de liderança de uma organização
educativa. No entanto, nos parâmetros de avaliação de um diretor de uma organização
educativa são tidas em contas as competências do diretor mas, paradoxalmente, no ato
de seleção do diretor não está definido o perfil de competências necessário. Neste
sentido, afigura-se necessário identificar um perfil de gestão e um estilo de liderança
de um diretor de uma organização educativa portuguesa. O objetivo deste estudo
prendeu-se com a análise de documentos e investigações que determinam o
desenvolvimento do sistema educativo português, nomeadamente na comparação das
diferenças dos documentos de diferentes países assim como dos estudos de
investigação realizados nessa área, no que respeita ao perfil de gestão e nas
competências de liderança de um diretor de uma organização educativa. Os resultados
sugerem um perfil de gestão e um estilo de liderança, no sentido de uma liderança
pedagógica e transformacional, que acarreta uma série de mudanças no que respeita
ao perfil do diretor a selecionar e a formar.
In the foreign literature we find some research works that can help us to perceive the profile of performance competencies of leaders of educational organizations, however, many of them refer to standards, recommendations, guidelines and frameworks. There are also institutional documents and OECD reports. However, in Portugal there is no guiding document with reference to the management profile and leadership style of an educational organization. However, in the evaluation parameters of a principal of an educational organization, the competencies of the principal are taken into account but, paradoxically, in the act of selecting the principal the necessary competency profile is not defined. Therefore, it seems necessary to identify a management profile and a leadership style of a principal of a Portuguese educational organization. The aim of this study was to analyze documents and research that determine the development of the Portuguese educational system, namely to compare the differences between documents from different countries as well as research studies conducted in this area, regarding the management profile and leadership competencies of a principal of an educational organization. The results suggest a management profile and a leadership style, in the sense of a pedagogical and transformational leadership, which entails a series of changes regarding the profile of the principal to be selected and trained.
