Abstract(s)

This research proposes a model to evaluate the way entrepreneurship potential (EP) defined by environmental factors (EF) and psychological factors (PF) influence entrepreneurial self-efficacy (ESE) results in Culture and Creative Industries (CCIs), and analyzes how country cultural contexts may influence these patterns, comparing the situation in UK and EU Med countries (Portugal, Spain and Greece). Fuzzy set qualitative comparative analysis (fsQCA) applied to a sample of 123 CCIs from these countries, provides the results for the global model and for the two sub-sets of countries considered (UK and EU Med countries). Confirmation of proposed patterns of entrepreneurship potential that influence entrepreneurial self-efficacy, improves previous theoretical research on this field, allows a systemic assessment of entrepreneurs’ outlook, and paves the way for complimentary oriented quantitative research for a better conception of entrepreneurship’s public policies, as well as the definition of different support programs to promote the development of ESE in CCIs.
