This article presents an analysis of the entrepreneurial education landscape in public higher education institutions (HEIs) in the city of Petrolina, Pernambuco, focusing on identifying the presence and articulation of the theme in Course Pedagogical Projects (PPCs). Originating from a master's thesis developed within the scope of the Postgraduate Programme in Semi-Arid Development Dynamics (PPGDiDES) at the Federal University of Vale do São Francisco (Univasf), the study adopts an exploratory and qualitative-quantitative approach, using content analysis techniques supported by NVivo 14 software. Twenty-seven PPCs from three public institutions were analysed, based on deductive and inductive categories related to the inclusion of entrepreneurship in the curriculum structure. The results reveal that most courses do not mention the topic at all, and even when it is present, entrepreneurship appears in a sporadic and disjointed manner, without constituting a consistent pedagogical guideline. Based on this, the article proposes recommendations for the effective integration of entrepreneurial education in the dimensions of teaching, research and extension, as well as the creation of interinstitutional governance aimed at consolidating a local entrepreneurial education ecosystem. It can be concluded that, although the current scenario reveals weaknesses, there is significant potential for public HEIs in Petrolina to take on a leading role in training entrepreneurs and strengthening regional development.
