A Wikipédia como recurso educacional aberto: que possibilidades de integração curricular no ensino superior online?

À Wikipédia não será difícil atribuir um carácter ubíquo, se tivermos em conta que sempre que se faz uma pesquisa através de um motor de busca, habitualmente, os resultados apresentados provêm em primeiro lugar desta enciclopédia online, para alguns autores a maior enciclopédia online. E, se considerarmos a população estudantil, nomeadamente universitária, constata-se que a Wikipédia é uma das principais fontes de pesquisa, quer para assuntos do dia-a-dia, quer para assuntos relacionados com o curso.
Cientes do potencial da Wikipédia em contextos educativos, temos vindo a caracterizá-la, em estudos anteriores, enquanto recurso educacional aberto. Neste sentido, importa recuperar a compreensão do significado da noção de aberto no contexto dos recursos educacionais abertos, nomeadamente à sua associação a partilha, a generosidade, a recursos que são disponibilizados de forma aberta, associados aos 5 Rs – Reuse, Redistribute, Revise, Remix e Retain.
Centrando-nos na Wikipédia, indagamos sobre possibilidades de integração curricular deste recurso educacional aberto no Ensino Superior online, com a finalidade última de contribuir para o Programa Wikipédia na Universidade, mais especificamente em Portugal, o que até então não tinha sido feito.
Metodologicamente, a nossa investigação assume um paradigma misto, ou multimodal, em que se conciliam procedimentos qualitativos e quantitativos. Os dados foram recolhidos por inquérito por questionário. A análise preliminar (estatística e de conteúdo) dos resultados permite-nos concluir que o recurso educacional aberto Wikipédia pode e deve ser utilizado como estratégia pedagógica no ensino superior online.
It is not difficult to assign to Wikipedia a ubiquious character, bearing in mind that whenever you make a search through a search engine, usually, the results come first in this online encyclopedia, for some authors the largest online encyclopedia. And if we consider the student population, particularly at university level, it appears that Wikipedia is one of the main sources of research for daily matters or for matters related to the course. Aware of the Wikipedia potential in educational settings, we have come to characterize it, in previous studies, as an open educational resource. Therefore, it is important to recover the understanding of the meaning of the concept of open in the context of open educational resources, namely regarding sharing, generosity, and resources that are made available in an open way, associated with the 5 Rs - Reuse, Redistribute, Revise, Remix and Retain. Focusing on the Wikipedia, we look for about possibilities of this open educational resource in online higher education, with the ultimate aim of contributing to Wikipedia in University Program, specifically in Portugal, which until then had not been done. Methodologically, our research assumes a mixed paradigm, combining qualitative and quantitative procedures. Data was collected by questionnaire survey. Preliminary (statistical and content) analysis of the results allows us to conclude that Wikipedia, an open educational resource, can and should be used as a pedagogical strategy in higher education online.
