Publication . Morgado, Lina; Mendes, António Quintas; Aires, Luísa; Afonso, Ana Paula; Souza, Elizabeth; Areias, Maria Elisa; Pinto, João
The European network in D-flexible teaching (ENID-Teach) project is a pedagogical design proposal aimed at university teachers, professors, trainers, and teacher educators. Its primary goal is to help educators master D-Flexible Learning methodologies, apply microlearning techniques, and enhance their digital competence in digital pedagogies. The project is structured around five Nano Open Online Courses (NOOCs), each focusing on specific teaching methodologies. The NOOCs are offered in English, French, Spanish, Italian, and Portuguese, and are based on microlearning techniques. They are intended to be audiovisually accessible, with content provided in various formats to facilitate access for everyone. The courses are structured to include 25 hours of work, with approximately 10 hours of content and 15 hours of personal work, including readings, research, activities, and exercises with both descriptive and interactive resources. The project is aligned with the European Framework for the Digital Competence of Educators (DiCompEdu) and the UNESCO ICT Competency Framework for Teachers, adhering to the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) principle of "leave no one behind." It emphasizes the use of Open Educational Resources (OERs) and aims to empower teachers with digital tools and competences in digital pedagogies.
  • Gamified and ActiveLearning: portuguese university teachers experience
Publication . Afonso, Ana Paula; Morgado, Lina; Mendes, António Quintas; Areias, Maria Elisa; Pinto, João; Santoveña-Casal, Sonia
The NOOC 3 - Active and Gamified Learning2, developed by the Universidade Aberta (Portugal) as part of the ENID-Teach project, aims to enhance faculty skills in active learning and gamification. This study evaluates participants’ satisfaction with the course’s structure, content, methodology, technology, and overall learning experience. The chapter describe the preliminary results from the feedback from 21 Portuguese-speaking NOOC 3 participants, primarily higher education professionals, who completed structured or written interviews. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics to identify trends in satisfaction and, areas for improvement in the future. Participants rated the course highly, with 90% rating the structure and content as “Excellent”. Didactic resources, coherence, and teacher performance received similarly high marks. However, some challenges were noted, including platform usability issues, limited interaction, and course length limitations. Most respondents expressed a strong sense of belonging and willingness to participate in future NOOCs from the ENID-teach program. Results indicate that NOOC 3 effectively supports professional development through well structured, engaging, and relevant content and microlearning design. However, improving platform functionality, interaction opportunities, and course length could enhance the learning experience. These findings contribute to the refinement of future NOOC offerings and the advancement of digital faculty development methodologies.
