O presente estudo analisa o Instituto Dom (IDOM), uma organização da sociedade civil que atua na promoção do empreendedorismo feminino em contextos de vulnerabilidade social no Brasil. Inserido no campo da inovação social, o IDOM busca enfrentar desigualdades estruturais por meio de estratégias formativas e de fortalecimento comunitário. Analisa a trajetória, os processos e os impactos do IDOM enquanto organização digital dedicada ao empoderamento econômico de mulheres periféricas. Trata-se de um estudo de caso único, de abordagem qualitativa e exploratória, com base em entrevista semiestruturada com o fundador, análise documental, questionários pré e pós-intervenção (T0 e T1) e observação indireta em redes sociais. A análise dos dados foi feita por codificação temática e triangulação de fontes, com uso de proposições analíticas derivadas de referencial teórico interdisciplinar. O IDOM demonstrou impacto relevante no empoderamento das participantes, evidenciado por aumento de autoestima, práticas de gestão em microempreendimentos e fortalecimento de redes de apoio. O modelo de atuação digital, enxuto e pautado em metodologias empreendedoras baseadas em adaptação e improvisação, permitiu escalabilidade e adaptação ao contexto periférico. Foram observadas limitações na mensuração objetiva do impacto e na sustentabilidade financeira. O estudo mostra que organizações híbridas baseadas em redes digitais podem promover transformações estruturem populações vulneráveis. Recomenda-se o aprofundamento da avaliação de impacto e o desenvolvimento de modelos híbridos de sustentabilidade financeira para Organizações da Sociedade Civil inovadoras como o IDOM.
This study analyzes Instituto Dom (IDOM), a civil society organization that promotes female entrepreneurship in contexts of social vulnerability in Brazil. Positioned within the field of social innovation, IDOM seeks to address structural inequalities through educational strategies and community strengthening. It examines the trajectory, processes, and impacts of IDOM as a digital organization dedicated to the economic empowerment of women in peripheral areas. This is a single case study, with a qualitative and exploratory approach, based on a semi-structured interview with the founder, document analysis, pre- and post-intervention questionnaires (T0 and T1), and indirect observation on social media. Data analysis was conducted through thematic coding and source triangulation, using analytical propositions derived from an interdisciplinary theoretical framework. IDOM demonstrated significant impact on participants’ empowerment, evidenced by increased self-esteem, management practices in microenterprises, and the strengthening of support networks. The virtual, lean operating model—guided by entrepreneurial methodologies based on adaptation and improvisation—enabled scalability and responsiveness to peripheral contexts. Limitations were observed in the objective measurement of impact and in financial sustainability. The study shows that hybrid organizations based on digital networks can promote meaningful transformations in vulnerable populations. It is recommended to deepen impact assessment and develop hybrid financial sustainability models for innovative Civil Society Organizations like IDOM.
