Abstract(s)
The first archaeological investigations of a scientific nature in a Portuguese prehistoric site, are carried out in the Mesolithic shell middens of the Muge and Magos streams, tributaries of the left bank of the Tagus river. In this paper we describe the main characteristics of the first field woks, as well as the personal and institutional conditions in which they are carried out.
