Abstract(s)
caso sustentado no paradigma pragmático.
Despite the clear rejection that most teachers assume regarding Wikipedia for the completion of school/academic work by their pupils/students, there is also, as the literature tells us too, a number of teachers and institutions, especially in higher education, which considers that encyclopedia to be a resource with a huge pedagogical potential. The Wikimedia Foundation, which supports that project, along with others, favors partnerships with educational institutions around the world. In Portugal there is alignment for that, as actions have been promoted, including within LE@D, the Laboratory of Distance Education and Elearning, resulting in a number of strategies, with the aim of exploring the pedagogical potential of that Networked Educational Technology; the first of these initiatives took place in 2014, in the context of the Master in eLearning Pedagogy of Universidade Aberta, Open University Portugal, where the present study is hosted. Hence, the research carried out, with the purpose of integrating activities of pedagogical exploration of Wikipedia articles in the teaching practices of Vocational Education and Training, methodologically, is a case study based on the pragmatic paradigm. Thus, our case is limited to the curricular integration of Wikipedia in an 11th year class of a Professional Course in a school in the district of Lisbon. To collect data, we used focused observation grids, reception and assessment sheets, and products created by the students; for data analysis, statistics and content analysis were adopted, and their triangulation. The evidence collected reveals the success of the activities and practices implemented, especially because they allowed the acquisition of a broad set of skills associated with the current theoretical references, also called upon by us. In addition, there was a change in students from a conservative attitude to a more holistic attitude towards Wikipedia.
