Abstract(s)
A política brasileira de formação de professores para atuação na Educação Básica vem adotando a modalidade de educação a distância para suprir a carência de profissionais. O Curso de Licenciatura em Ciências Biológicas na modalidade a distância da Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina foi criado para atender essa demanda. As disciplinas do Curso
utilizam as Tecnologias da Informação e Comunicação e o Ambiente Virtual de Ensino e
Aprendizagem que disponibilizam ferramentas para mediar o processo de ensino/aprendizagem. A avaliação do rendimento acadêmico contempla diferentes atividades especificadas no Plano de Ensino. O Decreto Federal de 2005 prevê a obrigatoriedade de avaliações presenciais cujas notas devem prevalecer sobre as demais obtidas nas diferentes formas de avaliação a distância. Uma das principais dificuldades na realização de provas presenciais era sua impressão e envio à Instituição Sede pelos Correios, retardando o processo de avaliação. a Prova On-line presencial como um dos processos de avaliação. A Prova On-line permite o uso de hipermídias na elaboração das questões e substituiu a prova impressa, agilizando o processo de avaliação. O objetivo deste trabalho é o de apresentar a Prova On-line, suas possibilidades e os desafios a superar na sua utilização. Foi desenvolvido o Moodle Provas,
ambiente exclusivo para realização de avaliações presenciais na UFSC e/ou nos Polos de Apoio Presencial. O acesso é unicamente feito pelo CD de Provas que requer conexão permanente com a internet e contém uma instalação completa do Sistema Operacional Linux (Ubuntu) que, ao ser carregado, restringe o acesso aos recursos do computador e à Web. A Prova On-line é um sistema sofisticado, seguro e ferramenta inovadora que contribui com o aprendizado discente e a prática docente somando esforços na consolidação da Educação a
Distância com qualidade no Brasil.
Brazilian government, trying to meet the shortage of professionals in Elementary School teaching, is currently training teachers through Distance Education. The Distance Education based Degree in Biological Sciences of Federal University of Santa Catarina was created to meet this demand. The Course uses the Information and Communication Technologies and the Virtual Environment for Teaching and Learning, both offering tools to mediate the process of teaching and learning. Evaluation of academic performance includes different activities specified in the Teaching Plan. A Brazilian Federal Decree (2005) states that, for Distance Learning courses, grades obtained in compulsory classroom evaluations should prevail over the others obtained in other evaluations. A major difficulty in conducting paper-based Distance Learning evaluations is due to posting time between the Distance Learning Center and Institution Headquarters, which ended up delaying the evaluation process. As a solution and meeting the government requirements, we developed an On-line Test applied at the Distance Learning Center as one of the evaluation procedures. This On-line Test allows the use of hypermedia in formulating the questions, replaces the paper-based test and shortens the whole evaluation process. The aim of this work is to present the test on-line, its possibilities and challenges to overcome. The on-line testing system, called Moodle Provas, is a virtual environment exclusively made to conduct classroom evaluations at UFSC or its Distance Learning Centers. Access to Moodle Provas requires a CD, and permanent connection to the internet. It contains a full installation of the Linux Operating System (Ubuntu) that, when loaded, restricts access to computer resources and the Web. On-line testing is a sophisticated, secure and an innovative tool that contributes to student learning and teaching practice, joining efforts in the consolidation of Distance Education quality in Brazil.
