Abstract(s)
In this work, the novels O conquistador (1990) by Almeida Faria and Moçalambique (2017) by Manuel da Silva Ramos are compared. This comparative analysis was structured not only in light of the parodic character that characterizes these works of fiction, but also in the simultaneous confluence of elements of both Sebastianism and Dom-Juanism in their protagonists. A critical interpretation of these same characters as spokespeople for Portuguese identity was even elaborated, using as a basis for this purpose some of the studies carried out in this field by Eduardo Lourenço.
