Abstract(s)
The present work is a case study that fits into the educational scenario of public education in Portugal, specifically during the academic year of 2022/2023. This research adopts a qualitative perspective and focuses on a School Group located in the municipality of Lisbon. The central purpose of this study is to outline a leadership profile, using the jobshadowing method for this. The jobshadowing technique, which involves accompanying a person in their work to learn about their role, was the primary methodology chosen. For data collection, an observation grid was used. The observation period was divided into different moments: one morning, one afternoon, and three full days, totaling 1571 minutes of direct observation. Additionally, there was an opportunity to observe two mornings of a special event organized by the School Group, called "Active School Street." In this event, pedagogical activities took place on the streets surrounding the group, providing a different educational environment. However, the research focus was mainly on the morning, afternoon, and the three full days. During these times, observation grids were filled out, allowing for a deeper analysis of the School Group Director's leadership profile. From the observations gathered, it was concluded that the Director displays a strongly interpersonal and relational leadership style, standing out for his ability to establish and nurture meaningful relationships with all members of the educational community, emphasizing the importance of human relations in the school context.
