Abstract(s)
O património da água é um campo pouco estudado em Portugal. Em Lisboa, parte deste
património é gerido e preservado pela EPAL, Empresa Portuguesa das Águas Livres S.A.
Este trabalho consiste numa contribuição para o seu conhecimento, referenciação e
preservação através da criação de um roteiro turístico que permita o desenvolvimento de
micro polos turísticos, dentro das diversas freguesias da cidade de Lisboa onde
encontramos equipamentos emblemáticos da água, de forma a criar roteiros alternativos e
não massificados, onde o envolvimento das comunidades será imprescindível.
O trabalho, estruturado em dois momentos, parte da necessidade da criação de uma nova
forma de ver e conhecer o património industrial para, num primeiro momento, elaborar
uma síntese histórica sobre a evolução dos sistemas de captação e distribuição de água à
cidade de Lisboa nos séculos XVIII e XIX. No segundo momento, apresenta a
inventariação e descrição dos equipamentos da água seleccionados, bem como um
conjunto de propostas de percurso a realizar na cidade para a descoberta dos mesmos. Esta
parte inclui ainda estratégias para a protecção, salvaguarda e valorização deste património,
assim como um exemplo de boas práticas a adoptar.
Acreditamos que este trabalho permitirá à sociedade relacionar-se com o passado de uma
forma diferente, onde a história e os seus objectos ganham um valor e um interesse sem
precedentes, face à ruptura e à desordem provocada pela ausência de valores simbólicos e
de identificação do tempo presente.
The water heritage is an understudied field in Portugal. In Lisbon, part of this heritage is managed and preserved by the EPAL, S.A. - Empresa Portuguesa das Águas Livres. This work is a contribution to its knowledge, referencing and preservation trough the creation of a tourist itinerary which will allow the development of micro tourist poles, within the various parishes of Lisbon where we can find iconic water equipment, in order to create alternative routes, where the involvement of the communities will be vital. The work divided into two parts reflects the need of setting up a new way of seeing and knowing the industrial heritage. In a first moment it presents the historical overview of the evolution of the systems of collection and distribution of water to the city of Lisbon in the 18th and 19th centuries. In the second part, presents the inventory and description of the selected water equipment, and the proposals for routes to be held in the city for the discovery of the selected equipment. This part also includes strategies for the protection, safeguarding and enhancement of this heritage, as well as an example of good practice to adopt. We believe that this work will allow the society to relate to the past in a different way, giving History and its objects a value and an unprecedented interest in face of the disruption and disorder caused by the absence of symbolic values and identification of the present time.
