Abstract(s)
Deve-se, precocemente, proporcionar o contacto com diferentes
recursos de leitura e de qualidade literária. O contacto com a literatura não
promove apenas a aprendizagem da leitura, há outras aprendizagens e
estruturas mentais que também se desenvolvem. Neste sentido, atualmente as
Bibliotecas Escolares desempenham um papel fundamental na promoção da
leitura, sendo este o foco do presente estudo.
O processo de avaliação das Bibliotecas Escolares, desenvolvido pelo
Gabinete da Rede de Bibliotecas Escolares, assenta num conjunto de
elementos e procedimentos, entre os quais a recolha de dados através de
questionários aplicados a diferentes atores, nomeadamente aos alunos de 1.º
Ciclo do Ensino Básico (1.º CEB), mais concretamente aos alunos do terceiro e
quarto anos, conforme sugere o MABE (Portugal, 2018, p.57).
O estudo apresentado nesta dissertação focaliza-se na análise das
questões que remetem, mais diretamente, para a importância da Biblioteca
Escolar na formação de leitores no 1.º CEB. Assim, procede-se à análise dos
valores obtidos nos dois períodos temporais examinados – 2015/2017 – em
quatro distritos do território nacional. Tratando-se de um estudo sobretudo de
natureza quantitativa, procura-se também explorar algumas hipóteses e
desenhar algumas perspetivas sobre o papel da Biblioteca Escolar na formação
de leitores nos primeiros anos de ensino.
The contact with different reading and literary quality resources should be promoted from an early stage. The interaction with literature promotes not only the learning of reading, but also other learning and mental structures that are developed in the process. In this sense, School Libraries nowadays play a fundamental role in the promotion of reading, this being the primary focus of this study. The evaluation process of the School Libraries, developed by the [Portuguese] Office for the Network of School Libraries, is based on a set of elements and procedures, amongst which are the collecting of data through the use of questionnaires applied to different actors, namely to the Primary School students, more especially, to the third and fourth grade students. The study presented in this dissertation focus on the analysis of questions related, in a more direct way, to the importance of the School Library in the training of readers in Primary Schools. Hence, we have done an analysis focused on the values obtained on the two examined time periods – 2015 and 2017 - in four administrative districts of the Portuguese territory. Even though this study is basically a quantitative analysis, the aim is also to explore several hypothesis and draw some perspectives about the role of the School Library in the guidance of readers in the early school years.
