Abstract(s)
Esta dissertação é uma abordagem, um levantamento e uma reflexão sobre o que é
afinal uma reserva museológica e a sua importância no museu. As reservas continuam a
assumir um papel de retaguarda em muitas instituições museológicas, muitas vezes até
desprezado, uma vez que são espaços escondidos. É necessário sensibilizar e promover
uma mudança de atitude no nosso panorama museológico. As reservas devem assumir uma
função museológica de importância primordial e relevante dentro de qualquer museu: é
nestes espaços que os bens culturais permanecem por tempo indeterminado e por isso
devem ser alvo de atenção.
Sendo a preocupação central deste estudo a conservação preventiva das coleções do
Museu Municipal de Tavira, tornou-se fundamental caracterizar os edifícios que guardam
este acervo museológico e que funcionam, deste modo, como reservas/depósitos. Ao
abordarmos a conservação preventiva relacionada com as reservas do museu, o edifício
tem um papel fundamental neste processo, uma vez que é considerado a primeira barreira
de proteção dos bens culturais. A sua caracterização é fundamental para compreender se a
conservação preventiva é bem-sucedida ou não.
De uma maneira geral, os edifícios que guardam as coleções do museu apresentam
problemas estruturais, uma vez que são reutilizações de espaços que não foram projetados
para reservas museológicas. Como solução propõem-se a construção de um edifício de raiz
devidamente planeado para albergar todo o acervo do museu, incluindo áreas de atividades
dos técnicos, facilitando tanto a gestão das coleções como dos recursos humanos.
Respeitando as diretrizes internacionais na área dos museus, este edifício deve ser
construído com uma “Arquitetura Bioclimática e Sustentável” porque a salvaguarda do
património e da natureza andam de mão dada face ao aquecimento global do planeta.
This dissertation is an approach, a survey and a reflection on what is after all a museological storage and its importance in the Museum. Storages areas continue to assume a role of lamps in many museums, often neglected, since they are hidden spaces. It is necessary to raise awareness and promote a change of attitude in our museological panorama. Storages areas must assume a museological function of paramount importance and relevant inside any museum: it is in these spaces that cultural heritage remain indefinitely and must be the subject of attention. Being the central concern of this study the preventive conservation of the collections of the “Museu Municipal de Tavira”, became essential to characterize the buildings that keep this museological collection and how they work as storages/deposits. When we approach the preventive conservation related to the storages of the museum, the building has a key role in this process, since it is considered the first barrier of protection of cultural heritage. Their characterization is essential to understand whether the preventive conservation is successful or not. In General, the buildings that keep the museum colletions present structural problems since they are reuses spaces that are not designed for museum storages. As solution we propose the construction of a building from scratch properly planned for all the museum colletions, including areas of technical activities, facilitating both the management of collections such as human resources. Respecting international guidelines in the area of museums, this building should be constructed with a "Bioclimatic and Sustainable Architecture" because the safeguarding of heritage and nature go hand in hand in the face of global warming of the planet.
