No contexto mundial e laboral cada vez mais globalizado, o presente estudo pretendeu verificar quais os fatores influenciadores do aumento da mobilidade dos jovens emigrantes portugueses qualificados para o Brasil, depois do ano de 2008 e do acentuar da crise econômica mundial no continente europeu, com o objetivo de identificar as principais causas deste aumento e as motivações destes emigrantes. Foi utilizada a metodologia qualitativa, através de entrevistas semiestruturadas de caráter intensivo aplicadas a dez portugueses, emigrantes trabalhadores, jovens e licenciados. A presente investigação destacou o importante papel que os fatores não estritamente económicos exercem na decisão pela migração internacional, com destaque para o crescente aumento do interesse pelo desenvolvimento de carreiras internacionais entre os jovens licenciados.
Considering the context of a world that is getting more globalized and borderless every day, the present study intended to verify which are the influencing factors impending on the increasing mobility of qualified young Portuguese workers to Brazil, after 2008, year that the European continent crisis accentuated, aiming to identify the main causes of this increase, related to the individual motivations of these Portuguese emigrants. A qualitative methodology was used through intensive semi-structured interviews applied to ten Portuguese interviewees, emigrant workers and young graduates. The present research has highlighted the important role that the not strictly economic factors perform in deciding to migrate abroad and the growing interest on the development of international careers among young graduates.
