A introdução da imagem em movimento na pesquisa veio produzir grandes desafios e modificações ao nível da observação directa e diferida, da descrição e linguagem, da interpretação e análise e da comparação e comunicação. A imagem animada fornece contributos valiosos para o desenvolvimento do conhecimento, tanto ao nível da investigação, como no âmbito da intervenção e da formação. O filme etnopsicológico possibilita o estudo do facto total, favorecendo a análise das várias dimensões da comunicação, o estudo da relação das representações e das práticas, facultando múltiplos significados e perspectivas de estudo, muito em particular, a análise, a descrição e a comparação intercultural. O texto realça a importância e as vantagens da metodologia fílmica, da utilização da imagem animada, das técnicas audiovisuais, no âmbito das ciências sociais e humanas, nos estudos interculturais e comparativos, particularmente, no domínio da infância onde se apresentam exemplos de aplicação.
The introduction of moving image in research has given rise to great challenges and modifications at the level of direct and delayed observation, description and language, interpretation and analysis, comparison and communication. Animated image provides a valuable contribution to the development of knowledge, both at the level of research and within the scope of intervention and training. Ethnopsychological films make it possible to study total facts, promoting the analysis of the various dimensions of communication, the study of the relationship between representation and practice, and providing multiple meanings and perspectives of study, in particular analysis, description and inter/transcultural comparison. The text emphasises the importance and advantages of filmic methodology, the use of animated image and audiovisual technology within the scope of social sciences and humanities, in intercultural and comparatives studies, particularly in the field of childhood, where examples of application are presented.
