dc.description.abstract	Este trabalho de investigação em educação analisa a relevância do uso das Tecnologias de Informação e Comunicação (TIC) em educação, e a contribuição que o seu uso pode dar no âmbito do desenvolvimento de competências sociocognitivas do aluno com necessidades educativas especiais (NEE), promovendo a sua inclusão. Neste contexto, e no quadro dos novos paradigmas da educação, da escola do século XXI, face às exigências da sociedade global, é incontornável falarmos de tecnologias, de novas ferramentas e recursos na educação, de sucesso educativo e de inclusão social. É de salientar, o contributo, apoio e colaboração que a Biblioteca Escolar, com os seus recursos e a sua equipa respetivamente, pode dar ao aluno, atendendo às características únicas de que a biblioteca dispõe, na promoção do ensino e da aprendizagem. Ao desenvolver um trabalho colaborativo com os demais docentes, com o intuito de privilegiar a inclusão, a equidade, a partilha de saberes, o desenvolvimento de competências, a Biblioteca Escolar contribui para o sucesso educativo e para a construção do projeto de vida do aluno. Com esta investigação, obtivemos um conhecimento mais preciso, profundo e sustentado, sobre o quotidiano da escola investigada no âmbito das problemáticas dos alunos com Necessidades Educativas especiais (NEE). Este trabalho tomou a forma de um estudo de caso, desenvolvido segundo a abordagem qualitativa. Participaram no estudo diretores de turma, professores de TIC e técnicos dos serviços de apoio, tendo a investigação incidido sobre o universo de alunos com NEE a frequentar a escola investigada. Utilizámos como instrumentos de recolha de dados as entrevistas, a recolha documental, a observação direta não participante e, os diários. Concluímos que as TIC, como ferramentas promotoras de motivação, autonomia, autoestima e interação, oferecem vantagens muito significativas para o desenvolvimento cognitivo, físico, social e emocional dos alunos com NEE.	pt_PT
dc.description.abstract	This research work in education analyzes the relevance of the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in education, and the contribution that they can give in what the development of social and cognitive competences (skills) of the student with special educational needs (SEN) is concerned, by promoting his inclusion. In this context, and according to the new paradigms of the education of the 21st century school, due to the demands of the global society, it is inevitable that we talk about technologies, about new tools and resources in education, about educational success and social inclusion. It is worth pointing out the contribution, support and collaboration that the School Library, through its team and its own resources, can provide for the student, taking into account the library's unique characteristics for the promotion of teaching and learning skills. In developing a collaborative work with all the teachers with the purpose of promoting inclusion, equity, the sharing of knowledge and the development of skills, the School Library contributes to the educational success of the student and to the building of his life project. With this research, we have achieved a more precise, profound and sustainable knowledge about the daily life of the school under investigation in what the problems of students with SEN are concerned. This work took the form of a case study research, developed according to a qualitative approach. The participants in this case study were class tutors, ICT teachers and support service technicians and the research focused on the universe of students with SEN attending the school under investigation. As methods of data collection, we have used interviews, document analysis, non-participant direct observation, and diaries. We have reached the conclusion that ICTs, as tools that promote motivation, autonomy, self - esteem and interaction, offer significant advantages for the cognitive, physical, social and emotional development of students with SEN.	pt_PT
