Abstract(s)
This article describes a case study with a second-year Multimedia degree class. The students explored some tools for creating digital content using Artificial Intelligence (AI). The students told stories in co-authorship with ChatGPT and co-created illustrations using different programmes that generate images from text. At the beginning, they answered a questionnaire to rate their perceptions of AI and how they used it in their activities. The results of this questionnaire revealed that most of the students had already used AI tools, essentially text-to-image tools, and that they were interested in continuing to explore AI. After completing the activities, the students drew up a report on the proposed activity, in which the majority recognised the potential of AI. The students emphasised the speed with which the AI generated ideas, although they encountered challenges when interacting with the models, especially those that generate images. However, it can be seen that the integration of AI into creative processes still generates some doubt, with concerns being expressed about the role of technology as author and questions being raised about plagiarism and copyright.
