Abstract(s)
revisão da International Classification of Diseases (ICD-11).
avalição do burnout.
In May 2019, the World Health Organization (WHO) included burnout in the 11th review of the International Classification of Diseases (ICD-11). Studies on Burnout Syndrome have shown that it has a great impact in the labor market, namely absenteeism, the intention to leave the job and the actual departure from the workplace. Several studies have shown that the health sector is one of the economic sectors that has the highest rates of absenteeism from work. For this reason, we considered it important to assess the situation of Occupational Therapists in Portugal in relation to Burnout Syndrome and its impact on the organization. We carried out a quantitative study. As a data collection instrument, we used the Maslach Burnout Inventory - Human Service Survey in Portuguese, thus guaranteeing the reliability of the study, as it is the most used instrument for assessing burnout. The respondents' characterization questionnaire was created by the researcher. The selfadministered questionnaires were answered online through the surveymonkey platform. As for the results, the majority of subjects in the sample (69.28% - 239 subjects) did not show burnout in any of the three dimensions of the MBI - HSS. However, 30.72% of the subjects in the sample had burnout indicator values in one or more dimensions. This study revealed significant differences in the emotional exhaustion dimension between those who were absent from work in the last six months and those who were not, revealing those who were absent a greater emotional exhaustion. It also revealed the existence of significant differences - for the worse - in all dimensions of burnout in those who thought about changing their profession or organization in the last month compared to those who did not. Finally, it revealed significant differences - also for the worse - (i) in the emotional exhaustion and depersonalization dimensions in those who thought changing their profession in the last six months compared to those who did not and (ii) in the emotional exhaustion and low personal fulfillment dimensions in whom thought about changing organization in the last six months compared to those who did not.
