Apesar das relações históricas e linguísticas existentes entre a Galiza e Portugal, não existe
uma tradição de ensino do português nesta Comunidade Autónoma do Estado espanhol. A
escolha da temática desta dissertação de mestrado sobre estudo do português na Galiza
surge da necessidade de criar um corpus e de investigar sobre as razões que expliquem a
situação do ensino do português e, portanto, o baixo número de estudantes de português
língua estrangeira nesta Comunidade Autónoma. Este trabalho de investigação pretende
também contribuir à literatura sobre o estudo do PLE na Galiza.
Despite the historical and linguistic relations between Galicia and Portugal, there is no tradition of teaching Portuguese in this Autonomous Region of the Spanish state. The choice of the topic of this master’s thesis on the study of Portuguese in Galicia arises from the need to create a corpus and to investigate the reasons explaining the situation of Portuguese teaching in Galicia and, therefore, the low number of students of Portuguese as a foreign language in this Autonomous Region. This research work also intends to contribute to the literature on the study of Portuguese as a foreign language in Galicia.
