Abstract(s)
transparentes.
Interactive films usually contain visual elements to explain the procedure of performing the interaction by the spectator. These elements interfere with the image and, therefore, the aesthetics of the film as well as the immersion of the spectator. "Characters looking for a spect-actor" is an practice-based research project that seeks to explore new forms of non-intrusive interaction in interactive movies, while at the same time aims to give the spectator on-the-fly control over the film editing. In this way, we try to explore the role of the spectator as an active subject in the presented narrative through transparent interfaces. The practical component of the project materializes in the form of artefacts that explore the possibility of using 3D sensors and mobile devices as interfaces to generate effective interaction mechanisms in interactive films. The proposed technology is tested through a film whose narrative composed of different characters can be explored through film editing. Spectators can choose, through interaction, the character to follow as well as the shooting angle for each.
