Abstract(s)
Green Campus" refers to a Higher Education Institution (HEI) campus that is designed, built, and operated in an environmentally sustainable manner. This can include a variety of initiatives such as energy efficiency, use of renewable energy sources, recycling and waste reduction programs, sustainable transportation options, and conservation of natural resources. Green campuses also often include green spaces, such as gardens and parks, which provide habitat for wildlife and opportunities for outdoor recreation for students, faculty, and staff.
This report not only underscores the importance of Green Campus initiatives but also highlights the significant contributions of online and distance education institutions in advancing sustainability. By leveraging digital platforms and innovative educational approaches, these institutions are driving a profound shift toward more sustainable models of higher education—models that have the potential to reach every corner of the globe. It is through continued collaboration, research, and innovation that we can ensure the principles of sustainability are deeply embedded in all future educational frameworks, thus helping to meet the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and contributing to planetary
well-being.
