O texto é dedicado ao antropólogo e cineasta francês Jean Rouch (1917-2004). São apresentados de forma sumária alguns fundamentos, características e teorias da sua longa, complexa e inovadora obra cinematográfica. Analisam-se alguns dos principais contributos para o desenvolvimento da pesquisa e cinema etnográfico, da antropologia visual e dos estudos (inter) culturais.
The text is dedicated to French anthropologist and filmmaker Jean Rouch (1917-2004). It presents in summary form some characteristics, theories and foundations of its long, complex and innovative cinematographic work. Some of the main contributions to the development of ethnographic research and cinema, visual anthropology and (inter) cultural studies are analyzed.
