O Abjecionismo tem sido uma das mais debatidas vertentes relacionadas com o percurso do movimento surrealista em Portugal. Neste texto, propõe-se uma síntese dos principais aspetos convocados por esse conceito e apresenta-se uma panorâmica de algumas etapas representativas do pensamento crítico de Mário Cesariny, nas quais se percebem diferentes interpretações do Abjecionismo. Em Cesariny, o Abjecionismo começa por ser integrado como uma componente significativa da plural manifestação surrealista em Portugal, para ser entendido, quer como expressão de uma conjuntura partilhada por autores de diferentes correntes literárias e artísticas, quer como uma via sem relações com o Surrealismo e apropriada abusivamente por Luiz Pacheco.
Abjectionism has been one of the most debated strands related to the course of the Surrealist movement in Portugal. This text proposes a synthetic perspective of the main aspects evoked by this concept and presents an overview of some representative stages of Mário Cesariny’s critical thinking, in which the poet proposes different interpretations of Abjectionism. In Cesariny, Abjectionism was initially seen as a significant component of the plural Surrealist manifestation in Portugal, progressively coming to be seen, on the one hand, as an expression of a conjuncture shared by authors from different literary and artistic currents, on the other hand as a path unrelated to Surrealism and abusively appropriated by Luiz Pacheco.
