| dc.description.abstract | Os antigos Egípcios acreditavam que o touro poderoso representava a personalidade do próprio faraó. O touro estava, de facto, intimamente associado ao Estado faraónico, estando presente ao nível dos regalia (cauda taurina) e significativamente nos próprios epítetos reais (ka nakht). Na mitologia egípcia, de todos os touros sagrados o que maior projecção alcançou, como deus agrário da fecundidade, da vegetação renascida e da ressurreição, foi, seguramente, o touro Ápis, associado em Mênfis aos deuses Ptah e Osíris. Na sua condição de touro ágil, vigoroso e viril, Ápis era um intermediário consistente entre o mundo dos vivos e o dos mortos, além de ser um propiciador de fertilidade e renascimento quando associado ao deus-Sol. A sua participação, literalmente ao lado do faraó, na «corrida ritual», importante cerimónia no âmbito da concepção ideológica do poder real, reforçou ainda mais a sua importância no seio do panteão egípcio. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | Ancient Egyptians believed that the powerful bull represented the personality of the Pharaoh himself. 4e bull was in fact closely associated with the Pharaonic State, being present at the level of regalia (bull’s tail) and signi&cantly in royal epithets (ka nakht). In Egyptian mythology, from all sacred bulls the one that achieved greater projection as god of agricultural fertility, reborn vegetation and resurrection was surely the Apis bull, associated in Memphis with the gods Ptah and Osiris. In his condition of an agile, vigorous and virile bull, Apis was a consistent middleman between the living and the dead, besides being an enabler of fertility and rebirth when associated with the sun-god. His participation, literally next to the pharaoh, in the “ritual race”, an important ceremony within the ideological conception of royal power, has further enhanced its importance within the Egyptian pantheon. | pt_PT |
