| dc.description.abstract | Numa sociedade global, um dos direitos fundamentais de qualquer individuo é o acesso a formação e educação que o prepare para uma cidadania ativa. Em Portugal, existem algumas assimetrias em várias áreas e umas delas diz respeito à localização geográfica das instituições de ensino superior. Apesar de já existir uma oferta diversificada de universidades e institutos politécnicos, ainda há zonas em que existe uma oferta desigual. Nas zonas mais rurais e afastadas dos grandes centros, a oferta é mais escassa e isso dificulta o acesso a essas instituições. O ensino a distância é um método que permitiu diminuir algumas dessas desigualdades em termos educativos, uma vez que não está limitado em espaço e tempo e é acessível em qualquer lugar do mundo. Esta investigação tem por base a Universidade Aberta (UAb), mais propriamente o projeto dos Centros Locais de Aprendizagem (CLA) que surgiram com o objetivo de descentralizar o acesso ao ensino superior, criando Centros da UAb em zonas rurais e afastadas dos centros urbanos. O objetivo desta investigação é perceber qual o impacto que os CLA têm no seu meio envolvente enquanto agentes de desenvolvimento, uma vez que focam a sua intervenção local através de atividades formais e não-formais que desenvolvem, com entidades locais, assim como o seu impacto cultural e educacional. No sentido de responder aos objetivos definidos, foi realizada uma investigação exploratória com catorze parceiros locais de quatro CLA da UAb da região Centro do país. Esta investigação permitiu-nos concluir que os CLA são considerados agentes de desenvolvimento para a região em que se encontram, havendo um desejo de continuidade das parcerias existentes. No entanto, verificou-se que, em alguns casos, a comunidade ainda desconhece o modelo pedagógico da UAb, assim como o projeto dos CLA e os seus objetivos. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | In a global society, one of the fundamental rights of any individual is the access to training and education that prepare them for an active citizenship. In Portugal, there are some asymmetries in several areas and one of them concerns the geographical location of higher education institutions. Although there is already a diversified offer of universities and polytechnic institutes, there are still areas where the offer is not balanced. In more rural areas and areas far from large cities, there is little offer and this makes access to these institutions more difficult. Distance learning is a method that has allowed to reduce some of these inequalities in educational terms, since it is not limited in space and time and is accessible anywhere in the world. This research is based on the Universidade Aberta (UAb), more specifically on the Centros Locais de Aprendizagem (CLA) a project that emerged with the aim of decentralizing the access to university education, creating UAb Centres in rural areas and far from urban centres. The aim of this research is to understand what impact the CLAs have on their surroundings as agents of development, since they focus their local intervention through formal and nonformal activities that they develop with local entities, as well as their cultural and educational impact. In order to respond to the defined objectives, an exploratory research was carried out with fourteen local partners from four CLAs of the UAb in the Central region of the country. This research allowed us to conclude that the CLAs are considered agents of development for the region in which they are located, and there is a desire for continuity in the existing partnerships. However, it was found that, in some cases, the community is still unaware of the UAb's pedagogical model, as well as the CLAs' project and its objectives. | pt_PT |
