Abstract(s)

The process of transforming an organization to face the new digital challenges, is a complex topic, and several research lines have been studying the different factors that might have a significant impact in delivering it with a higher success rate. We haven´t found yet, a clear success formula, although great progress has been noted over the past years in this field. The transformation of a small or medium enterprise isn´t necessarily the same process of a larger enterprise, especially due to more limitations in available resources and digital literacy. Common practices such as Software Architecture are widely used in larger organizations, this work aims to review some of the literature and better comprehend the role of software architecture as a possible mechanism to improve the digital transformation within small and medium businesses.
