Este texto tem como objetivo refletir sobre a atuação da arquiteta ítalo-brasileira Lina Bo Bardi na construção do Centro de Cultura e Lazer do SESC-Pompeia, na cidade de São Paulo. A abordagem trata de um ponto de vista da arquiteta baseado na simplicidade popular, a partir do que definiu como «arquitetura pobre», incidindo na escolha que influenciou a concepção do projeto, resultando num conjunto arquitetônico pertencente ao Serviço Social do Comércio- SESC, que entre suas funções abriga a arte e o lazer.
This text aims to reflect on the work of the Italian-Brazilian architect Lina Bo Bardi in the construction of SESC-Pompeia, in the city of São Paulo. The approach deals with a point of view of Lina Bo Bardi based on popular simplicity, from what she defined as «poor architecture» and which affects the choice that influenced the architect in the conception of the project, resulting in an architectural complex that among its functions houses art and leisure, belonging to the Social Service of Commerce – SESC.
