The left and right are, 35 years later, different than they were, but similar regarding the divisions between them. PCP and CDS/PP extended the polarization degree, PS and PSD have often become Siamese twins that the electorate rewards or punishes cyclically, but to which it provides, since 1975, its vote of confidence. In fact, since then the PCP is at left, alone, and CDS/PP at right, waiting always that a party called to form government (PS or PSD) needs a coalition.
