| dc.description.abstract | Em finais do século xi e inícios do século xii, surge na cristandade um novo modelo de hospital, inspirado nos escritos de Santo Agostinho, que, grosso modo, foi o que permaneceu até aos dias hoje. Com efeito, a reforma que acompanhou a criação dos hospitais gerais, nos séculos xv-xvi, não foi de todo «revolucionária», mas procurou sobretudo dar resposta a um certo desregramento administrativo que caracterizava então as instituições assistenciais e à crescente demanda por assistência hospitalar (em moldes completamente diferentes do período anterior). Portugal não esteve à margem desta revolução hospitalar medieval, como provam o envolvimento dos Hospitalários em Braga e dos Crúzios em Coimbra, que aqui procuramos caracterizar muito sucintamente. | por |
| dc.description.abstract | At the end of the 11th century and the beginning of the 12th century, a new model of hospital emerged in Christianity, inspired by the writings of St. Augustine, which, roughly speaking, has remained to this day. In fact, the reform that came with the creation of general hospitals, in the 15th-16th centuries, was not at all a «revolutionary» one, but sought above all to respond to a certain administrative disorder that characterized care institutions then and the growing demand for hospital care (in completely different ways from the previous period). Portugal was not on the sidelines of this medieval hospital revolution, as proven by the involvement of the Hospitallers in Braga and the Crosiers in Coimbra, which we seek to characterize very succinctly here. | eng |
