Abstract(s)
According to the Egyptian conception, the crowns and headdresses had an intrinsic and powerful symbolism and a religious and political meaning. The divine and Pharaonic imagery turned them into a core element of the royal and divine personality. The Egyptian royal scepters also made it easy to identify the holder of the political and military power in ancient Egypt. In this paper, we identify and analyze the crowns, headdresses and scepters existent on of the Egyptian collection at the Museu Calouste Gulbenkian (Lisbon), both the ones exhibited and those in the archives.
