Abstract(s)
Education and the teaching-learning process are undergoing major changes. The recent COVID-19 pandemic has promoted the use of digital technologies in the classroom. What has been achieved is an important step, but one that needs to be consolidated and assimilated by teachers. The rapid evolution of technology and its increasing integration into educational contexts, because of emergency teaching, requires teachers to acquire the necessary skills to integrate digital tools and active methodologies into the teaching process. The need for increasing integration of digital technologies in the educational context has been a challenge for teachers, who need to acquire essential competences for their integration, with a view to a more effective and relevant teaching practice. This paper aims to show how teacher training can enhance the use of active methodologies associated with digital tools to promote meaningful learning among students. The proposed research aimed to develop a training course for a group of primary school teachers, with a view to integrating active methodologies and digital resources into their teaching practice and analyzing whether it had the desired impact. The training was divided into four modules: active methodologies, open educational resources (OER), digital tools and assessment in an online context. It was a hybrid programme, with online and face-to-face sessions, and took place during February and March 2023 at the Alcochete School Group, targeting 29 primary school teachers.
