Ao longo da História, o ensino evoluiu, atendendo a necessidades específicas de formação individual. A formação do cidadão é vista como um processo complexo, inserido em um amplo contexto social, onde o indivíduo se reconhece como parte ativa da sociedade, refletindo sobre seus direitos e deveres. Esta dissertação foca na caracterização do ensino internacional em Manaus/AM (Brasil), tendo como exemplo a Amazonas English Academy – AEA. Além disso, são apresentados resultados de uma pesquisa realizada com os pais dos alunos da AEA, fornecendo insights sobre a percepção do ensino internacional. A dissertação também discute aspectos como a contextualização regional, o currículo escolar bilíngue e a competitividade para ingresso em universidades. Revela-se as vantagens desse modelo educacional em comparação ao sistema brasileiro, com base em dados do PISA, evidenciando também a consolidação do ensino bilíngue na cidade, influenciada pela presença de indústrias estrangeiras no Polo Industrial de Manaus.

Citizenship formation is viewed as a complex process, embedded in a broad social context where the individual recognizes themselves as an active part of society, reflecting on their rights and duties. This study focuses on characterizing international education in Manaus, Brazil, using the Amazonas English Academy - AEA as an example. Additionally, insights from a survey conducted with AEA students' parents are presented, providing insights into the perception of international education. The paper also discusses aspects such as regional contextualization, bilingual school curriculum, and competitiveness for university admission. The advantages of this educational model compared to the Brazilian system are revealed, based on PISA data, also highlighting the consolidation of bilingual education in the city, influenced by the presence of foreign industries in the Manaus Industrial Pole.
