Esta Dissertação, apresentada Ă Universidade Aberta para obtenção do Grau de Mestre em RelaçÔes Interculturais, denomina-se A VivĂȘncia em Internato (A ExperiĂȘncia de Educandos e Educadores Ă Luz das suas PercepçÔes SĂłcio-Educativas e SĂłcio-Profissionais) â Um Estudo de Caso.
A questão de partida é a seguinte: Quais as percepçÔes sócio-educativas e sócio-profissionais dos Educandos e dos Educadores do Colégio de Pina Manique acerca do acolhimento em Internato?
A questĂŁo equacionada no problema de investigação tem, entre outras, subjacentes as seguintes interrogaçÔes/inquietaçÔes basilares: Em relação aos Educandos, em que consiste a vivĂȘncia em internato?; Em relação aos Educadores, em que consiste a vivĂȘncia em internato?
Conclusivamente, podemos dizer que percepçÔes sócio-educativas dos educandos, contingentes ao seu acolhimento institucional, são positivas, na medida em que estes se posicionam, relativamente ao mesmo, de uma forma generosa e de salutar consonùncia consigo próprios, com os seu pares, educadores e demais intervenientes nas dinùmicas dos lares, considerando-se por isso, de forma genérica, salvo excepçÔes, seguramente adequadas as medidas de protecção avocadas.
Em remate, consideramos que a generalidade dos educadores, eventualmente representativos do todo, explanaram as suas percepçÔes sĂłcio-profissionais de forma ponderada, edificante e integra, tendo demonstrado um autĂȘntico entrosamento com os seus pares e com as crianças/jovens. PorĂ©m, nĂŁo se inibiram de abordar as arestas profissionais que, no seu entendimento, deveriam ser limadas, tais como o acompanhamento permanente Ă s famĂlias dos educandos, durante a institucionalização, como forma de melhor suporte nos processos de desvinculação e os horĂĄrios laborais a que estĂŁo submetidos, na medida em que sĂŁo embaraços a uma melhor eficĂĄcia sĂłcio-educativa e profissional
Abstract - This thesis, presented to the Aberta University for the purpose of obtaining a Masters Degree in Intercultural Relations relates to The Experience of Boarding School (The day to day life of the Teachers and Pupils in terms of their Perceptions Social-Educative and Social-Professional) - a Case Study. This thesis is split in two parts: part I â Theoretical Justification (chapters I, II and III) and part II â Empirical Approach (chapters IV, V, VI and VII).The first chapter (Problematical Study) focuses on the investigation relating to the problems faced with Institution of Minors in a Boarding School regime for a long period of time. The second chapter (Methodology Investigation) involves around the plan of investigation development followed by a qualitative and quantitative methodology. For this study, we researched the following: analytical bibliography; exploratory interviews; observation; inquiries through interviews, inquiries through questionnaires, as fundamental tools, which helped us in the elaboration of this project. We alert you to the fact that this investigation in its entirety, is of a particular; descriptive; heuristic; inductive and holistic nature. Chapter III (The Types of Modules of Children/Youth in Boarding Schools) relates to the different types of Modules Overseas; the different types of Modules in Portugal; The Social Inclusion/Exclusion; The Family and Living in Boarding School. Chapter IV (Casa Pia â Lisbon - Investigation), reporting the Characterization of the Institutional Context, concerning Casa Piasâs Educational Module in terms of Semi-Board (The School) and the Institution (the Homeless) it is also quoted the so called Paedophile Case which prompted the change in the system. The description of the so-called paedophile case The Reorganization of the Casa Pia of Lisbon from 2003 comprises of the Constitution of the Technical and Scientific Council and its Recommendations relating to the Institutional Modules and the Modules applied in Boarding Schools. The chapter titled Actual Project of Casa Pia - Lisbon includes The Project L.A.R., which stands for Places to Receive and Integrate and the International Dartington Project (Project P.I.A.F. â Prevention of Institutionalisation and Family Support to the Family and the Project R.A.I.A â Residence and Support of Teenager Integration. From a holistic point of view, the intention was to give the notion of the investigation in which this research was based on. To emphasise chapter V (Pina Manique Boarding School) has 3 distinctive perspectives: The Environment - The Santa Maria of BelĂ©m Council; History of Pina Maniqueâs College; Characterization of the Equipment and Shelter facilities of the Pina Maniqueâs College. Further to chapter VI (Presentation and Analysis of Data), during the investigation process, different levels relating to the proximity to reality were considered for analysis: Exploring Interviews; Observation (Routines); Presentation of the Results obtained from the Interview inquiry and from the Questionnaire: Presentation and Analysis of the Results (The Admission of Children/Youth to the Homes; The Disentailling of the Pupils in relation to the Homes; The Factors of Satisfaction and Insatisfaction of the Pupils and Teachers; The Home/Family Relation; The School/Home Relation; The relation of the Home/Exterior Community; The relation of the Home/Birthdays and Leisure Activities; The relation of the Teachers/Professional Training and Profession; The relation of the Teacher/Pupil; The relation of the Teacher-Pupil/Structure of the Homes; The relation of the Teacher-Pupils/Routines of the Homes; âFree" aspects focused on the Interviews with the Homes). Finally, chapter VII relates to the Final Reflections and Conclusions, faultless Perceptions from the Social-Education of the Pupils and the Perceptions of the Social-Professionals of the Teachers, that all this contribute tremendously to the in loco observation
