Abstract(s)
promoção do sucesso educativo.
Aware of the globalising and integrating educational reality in Portugal, it is important to consider the existing possibilities in schools as increasing strategies of promotion of educational success. The classes of Alternative Curriculum Routes (ACR) are a legislated and justified school reality as one of the educational offers of the elementary schooling for students that present a disruptive frame of mismatch between personal and school interest. In a Dante-like scenario of social change we can look at school leadership as something essential in an educational singularity. We consider this case study, in this school by the presence of ACR classes over the years and their intervention with the educational community. The type of leadership given by the head teacher and the strategies they employ were determinant to this class. With intermediate leadership being a significant factor in all of the academic changes and dynamics and without there being consensus on the ideal type of leadership, we try to analyse what is the leadership perspective used by the head teacher and how that was seen by students and teachers. In the current dissertation we are proposing to analyse if changes occurred in the performance and behaviour of these students and if there was a corelation with the type of intermediate leadership used in the class. We will not go to deep into the themes of indiscipline and unsuccessfulness. We will look at the type of intermediate leadership used as a contributing factor in the development of these students on a personal and academic level, as well as the influence the class council (CC) has.
