Este artigo relaciona a obra de Fernando Namora com as questões ligadas ao campo da Literatura Comparada, centrando-se especialmente na problemática da literatura global que tem ocupado esta disciplina sobretudo a partir de 2011 com o Relatório Bernheimer. A obra de Fernando Namora gozou da aceitação do público nacional e internacional, tendo sido a sua obra traduzida em vários países europeus e até no oriente, sobretudo durante os anos 1980, mas muitas das suas personagens pertencem ao meio rural e local, o que suscita uma reflexão sobre a apresentação do universal através do que é particular.
This article relates the work of Fernando Namora with issues concerning global literature that is more recently the concern of Comparative Literature since the Bernheimer Report in 2011. Fernando Namora's work enjoyed the acceptance of the national and international public with translations into several European countries and even in the East, especially during the 1980s, but many of his novel`s characters belong to the rural and local environment, which raises a reflection on the presentation of the universal through what is particular.
