Abstract(s)
O artigo analisa a experiência da Universidade Aberta de Portugal, que completou 25 anos de existência em 2013. Fundada com o objetivo de desenvolver a formação da população adulta portuguesa em nível superior, tem realizado a sua missão em várias áreas, com particular destaque para o âmbito das humanidades e das ciências sociais. Por isso, passa em retrospetiva a evolução em termos curriculares e de modalidade de ensino do curso de história, um dos mais antigos da instituição. Em termos pedagógicos, a mudança foi profunda entre a modalidade do ensino a distância da primeira geração, ou tradicional, e o atual regime de e-learning com recurso à plataforma Moodle. Procura-se analisar essas alterações e as suas implicações no papel dos docentes e dos estudantes no processo de ensino/aprendizagem.
The article analyzes the experience of Open University of Portugal that completed 25 years of existence in 2013. Founded with the purpose of developing the education level of Portuguese adult population, the OUP has accomplished its mission in several areas, with particular attention to the scope of Humanities and Social Sciences. So, in retrospective it examines the evolution of curricula and the teaching mode presented in the course of History, one of oldest of the institution. In pedagogical terms, the change was profound between the first generation distance teaching mode, or traditional approach, and the current e-learning system using the Moodle platform. The article seeks to analyze these changes and their implications on the role of teachers and students in the teaching/learning process.
