Inserir-se em uma nova cultura não é uma tarefa fácil, tendo em vista que vivenciar um percurso migratório implica a necessidade de adaptação na sociedade de destino e, para que isso ocorra, a pessoa imigrante deve iniciar uma intensa dinâmica de aculturação e de aprendizagem e, que vão desde aprender um idioma, conhecer novos costumes, cultura e leis, até compreender as diferentes formas de funcionamento que caracterizam o novo país.
No presente estudo são abordadas questões da migração internacional em Itália, o conceito de aculturação e de adaptação, no qual também evidenciamos como decorreu o processo migratório e adaptativo de sete imigrantes brasileiros residentes em Itália, que contribuíram com esta pesquisa respondendo a um questionário elaborado e estruturado para o efeito.
Durante a pesquisa constatamos que a aculturação acontece de maneira individual e que os sete participantes vivenciam o seu percurso migratório de maneira singular, no qual manifestam experiências positivas e negativas, alguns sentimentos ambíguos e contraditórios, além de experiências e sentimentos vivenciados diferentemente por cada um. Constatamos também que durante o processo de aculturação alguns imigrantes apresentam dificuldades adaptativas, relacionais, interculturais, psicológicas ou físicas, sendo estas desencadeadas sobretudo pela ausência de sentimento de pertencimento à nova sociedade e pela ruptura do quadro de referência identitário e cultural.
Inserting oneself into a new culture is not an easy task, considering that experiencing a migratory journey implies the need to adapt to the destination society and, for this to happen, the immigrant person must begin an intense dynamic of acculturation and learning. and, which range from learning a language, getting to know new customs, culture and laws, to understanding the different ways of functioning that characterize the new country. In this study, issues of international migration and in Italy are addressed, the concept of acculturation and adaptation, in which we also highlight how the migratory and adaptive process took place among seven Brazilian immigrants living in Italy, who contributed to this research by answering a questionnaire prepared and structured for this purpose. During the research we found that acculturation happens individually and that the seven participants experience their migratory journey in a unique way, in which they express positive and negative experiences, some ambiguous and contradictory feelings, in addition to experiences and feelings experienced differently by each one. We also found that during the acculturation process some immigrants present adaptive, relational, intercultural, psychological or physical difficulties, which are triggered mainly by the lack of a feeling of belonging to the new society and by the rupture of the identity and cultural frame of reference.
