| dc.description.abstract | O empreendedorismo Ć© um fenĆ³meno muitas vezes definido como o processo de criaĆ§Ć£o de um novo negĆ³cio ou nova iniciativa, mas nem todos os empreendedores se aventuram na atividade empreendedora pelas mesmas razƵes e entender as principais causas que levou um indivĆduo a se transformar num empreendedor Ć© algo extremamente relevante especialmente no desenvolvimento de projetos, ajudas e medidas polĆtico-sociais. Podemos separar os empreendedores em dois grandes grupos: empreendedores por necessidade e empreendedores por oportunidade e esta divisĆ£o Ć© importante para garantir que as medidas criadas para incentivar o empreendedorismo estĆ£o em conformidade com o tipo de empreendedor presente. Medidas que afetam nĆ£o sĆ³ a populaĆ§Ć£o nativa, mas tambĆ©m a comunidade migrante que escolheu esse paĆs como local para abrir o seu empreendimento. Algo com uma importĆ¢ncia considerĆ”vel para a RegiĆ£o AutĆ³noma da Madeira, que tem vindo a observar nos Ćŗltimos anos um aumento significativo do nĆŗmero de migrantes, muitos deles provenientes de paĆses com uma grande ligaĆ§Ć£o histĆ³rica Ć RegiĆ£o AutĆ³noma da Madeira (R.A.M.) Posto isto, este trabalho procura caracterizar a comunidade migrante da Ilha da Madeira com o objetivo de poder facultar informaƧƵes relevantes para a criaĆ§Ć£o e melhoria de medidas polĆtico-sociais de incentivo ao empreendedorismo que tenham em conta o perfil da comunidade migrante da Ilha da Madeira. Concluiu-se que os empreendedores migrantes da Ilha da Madeira sĆ£o maioritariamente empreendedores por necessidade e que a ligaĆ§Ć£o histĆ³rica e familiar com R.A.M. desempenha um papel crucial na sua escolha pela Ilha da Madeira, um fator essencial a ter em consideraĆ§Ć£o nas futuras medidas polĆticosociais implementadas para incentivar o empreendedorismo migrante. A investigaĆ§Ć£o contribui na sua generalidade para a comunidade cientĆfica, pela escassez de trabalhos focados no estudo de empreendedores migrantes e mais concretamente empreendedores migrantes a residir numa ilha. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | Entrepreneurship is a phenomenon often defined as the process of creating a new business or new initiative, but not all entrepreneurs venture into entrepreneurial activity for the same reasons and understanding the main causes that led an individual to become an entrepreneur is something extremely relevant, especially in the development of projects, aids, and socio-political measures. We can separate entrepreneurs into two large groups: entrepreneurs by necessity and entrepreneurs by opportunity and this division is important to ensure that the measures created to encourage entrepreneurship are in accordance with the type of entrepreneur present. Measures that affect not only the native population, but also the migrant community that chose this country as the place to open their enterprise. Something of considerable importance for the Autonomous Region of Madeira, which has seen an increase in the number of migrants in recent years, many of them from countries with a great historical connection to region. Therefore, this work seeks to characterize the migrant community of Madeira Island with the goal of providing relevant information for the creation and improvement of political and social measures for encouraging entrepreneurship that take into consideration the profile of the migrant community of Madeira Island. It was concluded that migrant entrepreneurs from Madeira Island are mostly entrepreneurs out of necessity and that the historical connection of Autonomous Region of Madeira with their countries of origin plays a crucial part in their choice of Madeira Island, something that should be considered in future socio-political measures with the aim of encouraging migrant entrepreneurship. The research contributes in general to the scientific community, due to the scarcity of works focused on the study of migrant entrepreneurs and more specifically migrant entrepreneurs residing on an island. | pt_PT |
