| dc.description.abstract | O topos da imortalidade literária percorre a literatura desde Homero. Se toda a cultura proclama o desejo de superar a nossa condição natural, em Jorge de Sena, a par do veemente inconformismo face ao absurdo de nascermos para morrer, há uma afirmação da descrença em qualquer tipo de imortalidade. Daí a urgência no reconhecimento pelos méritos da obra incomparável de que sabe ser autor, quere-o neste mundo por, como escreve, não acreditar noutro. Mas se uma obra é essencialmente um gesto de sobrevivência, a de Sena cumpre decerto a profecia do seu verso: «Um dia nos libertaremos da morte sem deixar de morrer». | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | The recurring theme of literary immortality runs through literature since Homer. If all culture proclaims the desire to overcome our natural condition, we find in Jorge de Sena, along with the vehement nonconformity in the face of the absurdity of being born to die, an affirmation of disbelief in any kind of immortality. Hence the urgency in recognizing the merits of his incomparable work, of which he is aware, as he wants to be recognized in this world because, as he writes, he does not believe in another. But if a work is essentially a gesture of survival, that of Sena certainly fulfils the prophecy of its verse: «One day we will be delivered from death without ceasing to die». | pt_PT |
