A lusodescendência em literatura: escritas de herança ou de errância?

No nosso texto, refletimos sobre o conceito de litera-tura migrante, mais particularmente a literatura produzida por descendentes de emigrantes em França e publicada em língua francesa. Para tal, abordamos primeiro esta noção na literatura e procuramos compreender o conceito de literatura migrante que está ligado a narrativas (auto)biográficas. Desta forma, analisamos dois autores que destacam o Outro e a alteridade nas suas obras. Analisamos os romances de Bernadette Ferreira e de Carlos Batista, dois autores lusodescendentes que evocam as suas origens portuguesas e cujas obras têm como pano de fundo a emigração portuguesa em França. Na medida em que as literaturas migrantes constroem um “espaço problemático, um espaço onde todo o fictício da identidade e pertença podem desdobrar-se, ser questionados e distanciados” (Robin, 1997: 8, tradução nossa), analisamos como a questão da identidade, da língua e da pertença estão problematizadas nas obras destes dois autores, que foram ambas publicadas em 2005.

Characters and figures: conceptual and critical approaches

The present collection comprises six chapters, preceded by an introduction that offers background and context. Analysed here are certain theoretical questions on the category of the character, re-addressing them from the specific angles that the pluralistic and interdisciplinary features of narrative studies have favoured. Some of the essays, for example, deal with traditionally less valued characters, or ones more distant from a strictly literary and canonising vision of the narrative. In this respect, the variety of approaches in this book highlight the dynamic condition of the character, configuring a state of the art that is always provisional and which is inscribed in a broader context of the theoretical re-dimensioning and transdisciplinary openness of narrative studies. The issues raised and illustrated in these essays have as much to do with their respective narrative category as with the field of studies in which they are framed. Texts by Carlos Reis, Sara Grünhagen, Marie-Laure Ryan, Brian Richardson, Raphaël Baroni, and Marta Teixeira Anacleto.
