- Enterprise architecture in a collaborative laboratoryPublication . Orrico, Bruno Miguel Trindade Velhinho; São Mamede, HenriqueThis research explores the alignment between organizational, information systems and technological architecture within a Collaborative Laboratory, using Enterprise Architecture as a guiding framework. The study focuses on identifying misalignments in the current architecture of the collaborative laboratory and proposing a future architecture that promotes greater integration, efficiency and alignment. The Action Research methodology was used to ensure a practical, real-world application of EA principles. A systematic literature review was conducted to support the identification of challenges and best practices in Enterprise Architecture, addressing key research questions such as the benefits of EA in organizational, information systems and technological domains. The causes and consequences of misalignments were also analysed to guide the formulation of proposed solutions. By applying the Architecture Development Method (ADM) of The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF), this study creates a clear roadmap for the transformation of CoLab architecture. The research offers valuable insights into how EA can optimize resource management, reduce process redundancies and promote innovation in a collaborative environment. Finally, this work contributes to both the theory and practical application of EA in aligning business and technology strategies within similar research and innovation-driven organizations.
