No presente trabalho efetuou-se uma abordagem analítica e reflexiva dos nexos de causalidade entre a dimensão holística que o conceito de Educação granjeou ao longo dos tempos e as diversas reestruturações educativas que têm transcorrido no cenário português. Nessa prossecução e contexto, elencou-se a alteração de atribuições das Bibliotecas Escolares no contexto dos processos de ensino e de aprendizagem, por forma a contribuir para o entendimento dos mecanismos que têm estado na base dessa mesma alteração e para a sua renovação/evolução, incrementando, por conseguinte, o dinamismo do contributo das Bibliotecas Escolares para a construção do conhecimento dos seus utilizadores.
O presente estudo focado nas Bibliotecas Escolares e no seu papel dentro do contexto educacional, enquadra-se e justifica-se, uma vez que tem expressão e representação nas grandes áreas temáticas da Educação, enquanto instrumentos de desenvolvimento da educação formal e informal e das literacias digital e informacional.
Nesta prossecução, foi desenvolvida uma investigação na qual se procedeu à identificação das competências e atribuições imputadas às Bibliotecas Escolares a par das várias reestruturações educativas implementadas no sistema de ensino português, alavancadas pela alteração conceptual da Educação e efetuando a sua vinculação ao contexto temporal e historiográfico. Para a efetivação do presente estudo foram traçados objetivos específicos que permitiram dar resposta à questão base da investigação e perquirições afiliadas.
O estudo empírico foi desenvolvido recorrendo a uma metodologia mista, de natureza qualitativa e quantitativa, privilegiando como instrumento de recolha de dados a análise documental, consubstanciada na avaliação crítica dos seus conteúdos, como método para a análise dos dados.
The present work carries out an analytical and reflective approach to the causal links between the holistic dimension that the concept of Education has gained over time and the various educational restructurings that have taken place in the Portuguese scenario. In this pursuit and context, was listed the change in the attributions of the School Libraries in the context of the teaching and learning processes, in order to contribute to the understanding of the mechanisms that have been at the base of this change and to their renewal/evolution thus increasing the dynamism of the contribution of School Libraries for the construction of knowledge of its users. The present study, focused on School Libraries and their role within the educational context, fits and is justified, since it has expression and representation in the major thematic areas of Education, as instruments for the development of formal and informal education and digital and informational literacies. In this pursuit, an investigation was carried out in which the School Libraries skills and attributions were identified, along with the various educational restructurings implemented in the Portuguese education system, leveraged by the conceptual change in Education and linking them to the temporal and historiographical context. For the accomplishment of the present study, specific objectives were outlined that allowed answering the basic question of the investigation and affiliated inquiries. The empirical study was developed using a mixed methodology, of a qualitative and quantitative nature, privileging document analysis as a data collection instrument, embodied in the critical evaluation of its contents, as a method for data analysis.
