Abstract(s)
Imigrantes que contam estórias, que criam empatia, que dão a conhecer a sua cultura de
origem e, por isso, se tornam ferramentas de interculturalidade. Ser, em contexto
migratório, contador de estórias, pode constituir um fator importante para a sua
integração na sociedade de acolhimento. Os imigrantes contadores de estórias promovem,
ou podem promover, na sociedade de acolhimento, espaços de interação, ou mais
especificamente, de mediação intercultural. Numa análise aos percursos de vida, à arte da
narração oral e à própria história do imigrante narrador, surge a noção de que também ele
se pode consubstanciar, através da sua arte, como uma ferramenta que contribua para sua
integração na sociedade de acolhimento, isto é, ser contador de estórias pode ser uma
vantagem para um imigrante, quando se aborda o processo de integração. As narrativas de
vida destes imigrantes contadores de estórias enquadram a sua relação com a sociedade
de acolhimento e colocam em evidência as competências que eles utilizaram e ainda
utilizam como instrumentos de integração, sobressaindo a sua arte de contar, a sua ação
junto de um público e a empatia que com ele criam, de forma a dar a conhecer a sua cultura
de origem, logo a serem compreendidos, eles e as suas práticas culturais. A
multiculturalidade é uma certeza nas sociedades contemporâneas e deverá ser um
propósito caminhar-se para a interculturalidade no seio delas. Uma das estratégias para se
atingir esse desígnio pode estar na narração oral, com a intervenção e ação direta de
imigrantes contadores de estórias, que narram contos, que colocam em evidência uma
pluralidade de culturas, enfim, que podem ser verdadeiros mediadores para a
interculturalidade.
Immigrants who tell stories, who create empathy, who make their native culture be known, and therefore become tools of interculturality. In a migratory context, being a storyteller can be an important factor in the process of integration in the host society. Storytelling migrants promote (or may promote) spaces for interaction, more specifically for intercultural mediation, in their host societies. When analyzing their life courses, from the art of oral narration to the narrator's own history, one would perceive the notion that he too can be embodied, through his art, in a tool that contributes to its integration into the host society, that is to say, being a storyteller can be an advantage for the immigrant when addressing the integration process. The life narratives of these storytelling immigrants frame their relationship with the host society and highlight the tools they have used and may still use as instruments of integration, emphasizing their art of storytelling, their action towards a public and the empathy they create with them, in order to make their native culture and cultural practices be known, thus, better understood. Multiculturality is the evidence of contemporary societies and it should be a purpose for us to move towards interculturality within them. One of the means to achieve this goal is oral narration, with the intervention and direct action of storytelling immigrants, who tell tales, who highlight a plurality of cultures, who can be true mediators for interculturality.
