Abstract(s)
expressão plástica e artes visuais, a expressão dramática, a teatralidade e a
quatro fases: i) a fundamentação teórico-concetual; ii) a conceção; iii) a
The research presented here addresses the creation and coordination of a group of young storytellers of the International School of Vilamoura (CIV), designated CIV Young Storytellers. The problem and the subject matter of the research focus on the development of artistic expression, with an emphasis on fine arts, drama and performance in multicultural and language learning contexts of young storytellers. The conceptual, theoretical and empirical research methodology is developed through a research-action lasting three years, articulated on a progressive web of four steps: i) the conceptual theoretical reasons; ii) the design; iii) the implementation of expressive- artistic training activities; iv) the feedback and evaluation. The theoretical and conceptual framework identifies lines of the inspirational figure of the ArteNauta through a constellation of its operational functions, combining them to the figure of the Storyteller on a perspective of diversity. The learning objectives highlight a constellation guide with the following concepts: travelling, creativity, freedom, pleasure and becoming a person. This detailed narrative of art education was built, analysed and interpreted from a wide range of resources generated through this formative journey, including logbooks, portfolios of the participants in the project, a very broad iconography imagery, videos and photographs, yearbooks and newsletters written in the CIV and also testimonials from parents, other teachers and educational assistants on CIV. The interpretation of the data from the CIV Young Storytellers Project highlights the contribution of education through the arts – associated with the set of artistic areas that mobilized an inter and transdisciplinary perspective – for the personal, linguistic, aesthetic, artistic and cultural development of the CIV Young Storytellers. It also allowed me to further enhance the educational, communicational and methodological value that emerged from a practice of art education who reported the greatest importance of the CIV Young Storytellers and the redefinition of the overall design of the CIV global project. It is with this belief and desire that I share this experience here. But above all to perspective the CIV Young Storytellers Project as an example of good educational practice, cultural and artistic, in the light of the international indicators of relevance and participation, as translated into high levels of fertility, innovation and energy enhancer of inspiration for other schools and teachers, in Portugal or any other country of our world of differences and cultural diversity.
