A literatura oral tradicional no Concelho de Melgaço: uma riqueza do património cultural e linguístico

Abstract(s)
O objetivo deste trabalho de investigação foi o de conseguir recuperar alguns exemplos da literatura oral tradicional no concelho de Melgaço e mostrar como a sua preservação é muito importante e urgente. Embora feita por homens e mulheres sem instrução, está impregnada de conotações, de sentidos figurados, de intenções e moralidades que foram sendo transmitidos de geração em geração e que, apesar da grande proximidade com a fronteira galega, mantiveram a sua identidade e contribuíram para a formação cultural de um povo.
A primeira fase do trabalho foi a recolha no terreno feita em várias etapas e contou com a ajuda de alguns populares locais e entidades públicas que se disponibilizaram para colaborar.
Depois, dirigi a atenção para a bibliografia sobre o tema e para alguns textos mais antigos e outros mais recentes recolhidos por investigadores ou simplesmente amantes do tema, de modo a conseguir um termo comparativo que, sem dúvida, enriqueceria a pesquisa e ajudaria a comprovar que género de textos ainda se mantém e quais são os que tendem a desaparecer mais rapidamente e por que motivo. Este estudo permitiu-me aprofundar conhecimentos sobre o património oral, conhecer os diferentes temas que dominavam as composições orais e confirmar que o objetivo primário da literatura oral era a transmissão do saber e dos valores aos mais novos.
Por fim, com o propósito de melhor retirar a mensagem do conteúdo de cada texto, procedi a uma divisão dos mesmos em três áreas temáticas nas quais tentei inseri-los: composições lúdicas, medicinais e religiosas / moralistas. Sempre que possível, fiz uma análise comparativa entre os exemplos que recolhi no terreno e os que recolhi da bibliografia consultada, inserindo cada um no contexto correspondente.
The purpose of this research is to recover some of the traditional oral literature made by illiterate men and women in Melgaço and show how it is full of second meanings, intentions and moralities which have passed from generation to generation. Even close to the Spanish border, it has kept its identity and built the culture of its people. First, I have met some locals who gave me precious information on oral literature, which allowed to make comparisons and to find out which remain or have just disappeared and why. This study has allowed me to get more knowledge on oral literature and to find out that the main purpose of oral speech was indeed to teach traditions and moral values to the next generations. After, I have created three different groups according to their main subject: ludic, medicinal, and religious / moralistic. Whenever possible, I have presented a comparative analysis of these examples and those found on the bibliography.
