Since prehistoric times, human beings have been driven by the search for better conditions of subsistence and well-being. With the development of communications and transport, there was an intensification of international flows, increasing the phenomenon of globalization. Contemporary migration dynamics have transformed Portugal into an attractive destination for immigrants. The increase in the Brazilian community is, related to economic issues, such as searching for a job, ease of access to the education system or the language itself. Children are faced with an educational reality that is different from Brazil. The present study aims to understand the role of Brazilian parents in the process of school inclusion for their children in primary Portuguese public education, with a special focus on family support strategies. Qualitative methodology was used to obtain subjective information. Semi-structured interviews and a focus group were carried out with Brazilian immigrant parents living in Portugal for less than 12 months and an individual interview with the class teacher, as a privileged informant. The results show significant parental involvement throughout the entire inclusion process, highlighting concern for the well-being of their children, which translates into the promotion of better future opportunities, particularly in the school environment. Support at home, evidenced by daily conversations with their children, represented a significant contribution to the school inclusion process, allowing parents a more comprehensive and in-depth understanding of the entire educational process.
